We have an exciting opportunity available for a Data Science Program Director to join our Research team, based at Bio21 Institute, in the heart of Melbourne's Biomed Precinct.

In this newly created position, you will ensure management and delivery of global, cross-functional high-value projects and diverse project teams, in the R&D and I&T portfolio as part of CSL Biomedical Data Science Initiative program.

You will lead diverse project teams to achieve intended value and benefits, aligned with CSL strategic and operational priorities, on time, within budget and according to performance specifications.

You will have overall responsibility for initiating, defining, developing, and closing out assigned projects, and managing project resources and program scope, within budget. Furthermore, you will manage all external partners to ensure understanding of overall responsibilities/goals of the program and help to support stakeholder engagement and a collaborative working environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science you will manage global, regional and site-specific business relationships to assure project quality and compliance, sourcing, and required financial cost are managed.

Skills & Experience required:

• University degree or equivalent related work experience; educational concentration in a related technical or industry-related subject is preferred. Experience in the R&D department of life science / biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
• MBA/Masters degree is preferred as is Project Management certification / training.
• Experience leading global, complex high value projects, especially in data science, technology and/or process-related areas.
• 10+ years' experience in using formal project management methodology, techniques, and tools.
• Leadership experience
• Experience within pharmaceutical/biotech/other regulated industry preferred
• Experience managing/delivering global projects
• Familiarity with organisational change management approaches
