Job Description

  • Provides support for any aspect of the units electronic data capturing and study management systems, via phone, online or remote
  • Collaborates in the department's 24/7 support helpline for clinical systems
  • Responsible for clinical systems' maintenance and problem reporting
  • Upon appointment collaborates in the execution of department projects in the context of clinical systems
  • Performs clinical systems and device installation and assists in validation activities
  • Collaborates in the provision and maintenance of equipment for trial performance
  • Supports the maintenance of a medical equipment database to ensure that equipment is described, maintained, tested, checked, serviced, supported and qualified as applicable
  • Administers medical data gathered during studies (e.g. transfer of ECG data to sponsors or core labs, data exports to internal or third party Data Management depts.)
  • Upon appointment authors training material for clinical devices or systems
  • Upon appointment provides training for EPTS staff and external support staff
  • Provides user training for clinical equipment and systems
  • Upon appointment provides demonstrations of clinical systems to sponsors and auditors
  • Upon appointment represents Technical Services in internal and external audits and inspections
  • Is willing to travel as part of the position's duties
    • Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude and proficiency as a trainer.
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills. Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Some experience of laboratory or clinical computer systems.
  • Some experience of validation processes (such as 21CFR11) in clinical research computerized systems.
  • Adequate experience in clinical research or helpdesk functionality.
