Job Details

The Software Contract Manager is responsible for preparation, management and finalization of contracts for Cytel’s Software business unit. This position provides both technical support and project management to ensure contracts are accurate and managed in a timely manner. A team player with strong industry experience works closely with the Software team (includes Software sales, Customer Success, Product Management, IT, Documentation, and Software Account Managers) and Legal to meet strategic and sales goals as well as supports the public presence of Cytel by interactions with clients as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Help to define process and manage the end to end Software contract process within the Global Proposal and Contract Management department
  • Manage tracking documents, related databases, and reporting on status to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain updated Software contract templates.
  • Prepare contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work and Amendments, using in-house tools for review and approval by Software sales, technical field support managers and the appropriate heads of Business Units.
  • Review contracts to ensure the legal and contractual terms are consistent with Cytel practices.
  • Coordinate with and manage engagement of key Cytel business stakeholders to ensure compliance and approval with all relevant terms, as needed (i.e. - Software sales, Finance, IT, Legal, Product Management, Customer Success, and Quality).
  • Work with key stakeholders from client teams, from procurement to executive suite, to ensure timely document review and turnaround.
  • Coordination of calls/meetings between Cytel and Client teams to discuss contractual elements)
  • Review and validate contracts for accurate content, consistent format and compliance.
  • Ensure contracts are delivered on time and in line with the request itself, and the appropriate Cytel review & management approval process.
  • Work with senior management to improve Cytel’s contract process, including developing standards of practice and templates.
  • Contribute technical information and strategic insights and suggestions to improve processes and quality of deliverables.
  • Create, build and manage excellent client and Cytel relationships.
  • Remain current on relevant industry and internal company products, services, pricing, markets, plans and developments.


Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, clinical sciences, statistics, or equivalent.

Minimum Work Requirements:
  • A minimum 5+years prior experience in software contract generation and management, preferably within healthcare and life sciences technology solutions.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of software contracting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the customer decision-making processes, marketplace requirements and the competitive environment, with the ability to position and differentiate products for maximum market penetration in the clinical trial space.
  • Above average skill with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint; Salesforce.com
  • Excellent use of the English language, strong writing skills, and an ability to solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Above average personal time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and strong personalities.
