At our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we are recruiting for a Logistics Document Coordinator to join our Sample Management team. In this new job role within the group, you will be responsible for the compliance with legal regulations, particularly Animal Protection Law, customs regulations, Good Laboratory Practice GLP), as well as internal and external guidelines and operating procedures.

Other duties responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for the creation of customs documents and of the application for import and export permits for animal samples (CITES applications) to the federal agency for nature conservation, for the application for epidemics and protection permits and for the completeness of CITES border crossing documentation.
  • Coordinates and optimizes the documentation of e.g. health certificates, and is responsible for the completeness of legally required documentation.
  • Responsible for close cooperation with authorities and with customs authorities regarding approval processes for import and export of samples.
  • Creates shipping documents and commercial invoices for sample shipments and sends appropriate documents to clients.
  • Conducts all customs matters related to the import, export and re-export of test substances and other goods including their physical presentation to the customs office.
  • Creates customs applications, shipping documents and commercial invoices for substance shipment and sends appropriate documents to clients.
  • Monitors the correct documentation of remaining test substances.
  • Ensures the completeness and the archiving of the required customs documentation.
  • Acts as the contact for internal and external clients, for external transport companies and for suppliers.

Education/Qualifications:
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
Experience:
  • Experience in a similar role in logistics/ shipping is preferred.
  • Experience working with government agencies and experience with regulations in relation to logisitics is preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills required with the use of several software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access preferred.
  • Experience with CITES permits is desired and advantageous.
