At Labcorp Drug Development in Harrogate, we are looking to recruit a QC Analyst to join the Molecular Biology & Virology team within the CMC division.

The CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing Controls) division provides end-to-end analytical solutions and testing services to ensure quality control of our clients manufactured drug products.

We work with leading pharmaceutical and biotech clients to ensure that their manufactured drug product or API (Active pharmaceutical Ingredient) passes all quality testing. Once this testing is complete, it brings our clients one-step closer to successfully launching that drug product on the market; helping bring medicine to patients.

Job responsibilities include:

• Completing analytical procedures using the followingMolecular Biology techniques: DNA/RNA extraction/PCR.
• Ensuring that client deadlines are met for all laboratory projects.
• Providing study supervision and operational support necessary for the performance of a wide variety of studies carried out in BioPharmCMC.
• Working closely with QC Scientists to ensure studies are performed according to scientific and technical standards and in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Provide guidance to more junior members of staff in all aspects of laboratory work.

Education/Qualifications:

• Scientific degree (Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry etc)ORrelevant industry experience.

Experience:

• Experience or knowledge of analysis such as PCR and DNA extraction and of using aseptic techniques preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Some Virology experience would be very beneficial.
• An understanding of health and safety policies, Company policies and procedures, and an understanding of GxP.
• The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with other employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
