Job Details

We are seeking an individual with Strategic Sales/Business Development experienceto join our high growth, fast paced and dynamic sales team.

Your Impact:

You are responsible for growing and managing key relationships in your assigned large pharma customers, promoting the Cytel vision and implementing impactful account strategy.You will work closely with assigned customers as a trusted advisor to deeply understand their unique company challenges and goals. You will consult at all levels to develop solutions that will help them reach their business goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop, monitor and implement the commercial strategy for each of your key accounts
  • Support other activities related to the implementation of the key account plan such as participating in internal account reviews and helping develop the strategy to maximize profitability across the portfolio
  • Identify decision makers, influencers, stakeholders and create as many touchpoints between client and Cytel as possible
  • Nurture and develop key functional and procurement relationships within the accounts and be their go to person for all outsourcing needs
  • Actively prospect for new business in assigned accounts, focusing on strategic, value-driven opportunities
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of products & services as well as competitors’ strengths & weaknesses to continuously identify business opportunities for Cytel
  • Maximize growth of key accounts by planning and executing customer specific marketing campaigns and formalizing a go to market strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end internal sales process through engagement of appropriate resources such as Operational Leads, Subject Matter Experts, Consultants, Executive Leadership, etc.
  • Own the proposal process throughout and work closely with the proposals group to ensure that RFP responses are of the highest quality
  • Orchestrate the bid pursuit process internally and with the customer so that bid defense meetings are well planned and presentations are delivered with the highest impact.
  • Provide reliable new business forecasts and pipeline updates to the functional and commercial leadership
  • Exceed sales targets

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5 or more years experience building and growing key partnerships in large and complex organization
  • Experience managing and closing complex sales cycles, from opportunity identification to deal closure, collaborating with varied levels and functions.
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of key account management, including an ability to lead an internal account team
  • Proven experience of selling consultative services, ideally within the Healthcare and Life Science’s industry
  • Successful history of net new business sales, with the ability to drive consistent delivery against revenue targets
  • Strong customer references and existing network within the pharma industry.
