Job Details

The Software Proposal Manager is responsible for preparation and management of deliverables for Cytel’s Software business unit. This position provides both technical support and project management to ensure Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) are accurate and successful. A team player with strong industry experience works closely with the Software team (includes Software sales, Customer Success, Product Management, IT, Documentation and Software Account Managers) to meet strategic and sales goals as well as supports the public presence of Cytel by interactions with clients as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Software proposal process, including management of tracking documents and related databases.
  • Develop and maintain updated Software proposal templates and text library.
  • Analyze and determine client needs expressed in RFPs and RFI, match Cytel’s capabilities and offerings to those needs, and position Cytel as the choice amongst competitors.
  • Organize internal team meetings to collaborate within the Software team to strategize, prepare, and execute account and opportunity plans.
  • Prepare proposals using in-house tools for review and approval by the operational support team and appropriate Cytel manager.
  • Prepare RFP and RFI text, including any technical written material supplied by operational support team and third-party vendors.
  • Review and validate RFP and RFI for accurate content, consistent format and compliance.
  • Ensure responses to RFPs and RFIs are coherent, persuasive, and delivered on time and in line with the request itself, and the appropriate Cytel review & management approval process.
  • Work with the Software team to improve Cytel’s proposal process, including developing standards of practice and templates.
  • Contribute technical information and strategic insights and suggestions to improve processes and quality of deliverables.
  • Create, build and manage excellent client and Cytel relationships.
  • Interact at all levels of the client team, from procurement to executive suite, and remain current on relevant industry and internal company products, services, pricing, markets, plans and developments.


Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, clinical sciences, statistics, or equivalent.

Minimum Work Requirements:
  • A minimum three years prior experience in a proposal/budgeting group at a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or within a pharma, academic, biotech organization in clinical research (functional or team leadership).
  • Experience in CRO contracting and surveillance.
  • Experience in proposal generation (budgeting and proposal writing).

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the customer decision-making processes, marketplace requirements and the competitive environment, with the ability to position and differentiate products for maximum market penetration in the clinical trial space.
  • Above average skill with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint; Salesforce.com
  • Excellent use of the English language, strong writing skills, and an ability to solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Above average personal time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and strong personalities.
