Job Details

Hobson Prior is seeking Director of QA to join a pharmaceutical organisation our client has an widespread, international client-base, ranging from virtual and small start-ups to world-wide pharma companies.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the company quality systems, GMP requirements and all regulatory body requirements.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction of the Quality Team in conjunction with other business functions within and external to the client.
  • Supervise IMP batch release in compliance with EudraLex Vol. 4 in relation to the Investigational medicinal products (IMPs) manufactured and tested by the client.
  • Ensure the effective use and implementation of the QMS (training, procedures, quality issues, CAPA) across the company. Identify, communicate, and escalate quality and compliance risks.
  • Plan, direct and, as necessary, conduct internal & external compliance audits to assure compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide QA leadership to assure thorough root cause investigations and effective corrective actions to prevent recurrences. Track and trend quality metrics, analyse trends and identify and assure implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide specialist Quality Assurance advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively promote a continuous improvement culture within the company.
  • Effectively manage quality projects in terms of tasks and resource.
  • Review and authorize quality documentation within the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor and trend any quality aspects pertaining to the facilities/equipment and Quality Management System in line with GMP requirements - report findings at the Monthly Management Review meetings.
  • Lead and support GMP Training activities.
  • Host client and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain continuous personal development and maintain up to date knowledge with current and proposed pharmaceutical regulations.

  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Must have significant experience of working in a leadership Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance role preferably in a CDMO.
  • Must have strong IMP knowledge.
  • Experience of QP certification for release of clinical trial materials under directive 2001/20/EC inclusive of dosage form manufacturing and clinical packing.
  • Experienced in a range of pharmaceutical dosage forms and early phase clinical development (Phase I/II).
  • Demonstrable business and commercial awareness combined with patient focus.
