Customer Service Engineer - analytical and clinical instrumentation
Mobile role: Based around the Home Counties of London
Competitive salary depending on experience plus company car and bonus and corporate benefits including 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, private health, Life Assurance x 4 and pension up to 5% contribution from employer

Our global client create the instruments, tests and software used by scientists, researchers and clinicians to address the most critical challenges across science and healthcare including the COVID-19 pandemic and are seeking an experienced Customer Service Engineer to act as an ambassador for the Company.

The Customer Service Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing work in an affective and efficient manner, providing the highest levels of customer service support and the best possible financial performance.
This role is part of a team covering all of UK&I. Preference will be given to candidates living around the London and Home Counties area.

Products supported include, but are not limited to:
o Thermal Elemental Analysis Products
o UltraViolet Spectrometers
o InfraRed Spectrometers
o Gas Chromatography

Priorities and Objectives
o Performs field service as advised by the call despatch staff/system, carrying our repairs, maintenance and installation of analytical instrumentation and their accessories. Provide onsite user familirisation on defined product groups.
o Organizing routine maintenance allocated on a monthly basis.
o Ensures that all documentation, circuit diagrams, Service Data Bulletins and manuals are of the correct revision to undertake service on specific instrument types. Maintains ancillary documentation e.g. Safety Manual, Procedures Manual to the highest standard with regular reviewing of manuals provided in accordance with the Quality Management System.
o Align personal working practices with the department's performance targets. Actively demonstrate compliance with all team targets.
o Maintains personal service spares issued and inventory records to the highest standard. Ensures all anomalies are quickly and effectively reported and resolved.
o Ensures that all tools and test equipment is adequate to perform service required, and that all test equipment issued is calibrated at the times specified.
o Makes returns of all fully completed service documentation, Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expenses Claims, Motor Vehicle Log Sheets etc, on a weekly basis.
o May be requested to perform specific and agreed tasks as defined through the Goal statements, already embedded in the Company Culture.

Qualifications
o HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a Biotechnology discipline
o Full UK Driving License

Experience and skills required
o Experience in a Customer Service Environment
o Background in Electronics preferably gained in a high technology service environment, together with an understanding of analytical and clinical instrument applications.
o Previous experience of the products outlined above or similar useful.
o Incumbent must have excellent people management and motivational skills.
o Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers on all levels, providing service information, technical data and general help as necessary.
o Ability to communicate effectively internally; orally and in writing.
o Negotiating and influencing skills
o Understanding of excellent Customer Service
