Medical Science Liaison, Italy, Oncology

  • Client: Biotech - Oncology  / Novel therapeutics
  • Reports to: Field Manager at Amplity Health
  • Location: Home based in Italy with 80% travel
  • Territory: Italy

Our client is a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company developing innovative medicines. The company has a diversified commercial product portfolio and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates for chronic diseases including Oncology.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team for oncology is responsible for establishing a respected and valued presence with researchers and opinion leaders working in oncology.  They will engage in fair balanced scientific exchange and respond to requests for information about pipeline products and diseases of interest with key stakeholders.  Through a thorough understanding of national and regional experts, they will gain insight into treatment patterns and trends that will be shared internally to shape strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, establish, and maintain clinical and scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) including individual physicians and researchers
  • Act as primary conduit to investigators interested in developing research collaborations with our client
  • Engage with clinical investigators in support of sponsored studies
  • Attend and provide Medical Affairs support at scientific conferences
  • Support internal stakeholders by providing subject matter expertise
  • Respond, as appropriate, to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
  • Provide clinical presentations and educational information in academic, community and healthcare provider settings
  • Share insights from the field with appropriate internal colleagues
  • Adhere to all of client policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level preferred in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, or Public Health (i.e., Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D.)
  • Pharmaceutical industry or clinical experience in oncology preferred
  • 2-5 years MSL experience preferred
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while being responsive to direction
  • Strong leadership skills and innovative attitude
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 75%)
  • Flexible to changing priorities, detail-oriented, and works well under pressure
