SUMMARY
 

The Delivery Strategy and Budgeting Team within Global Business Operations (GBO) is a dynamic group with high visibility within IQVIA. This is a senior management role that is responsible for developing operational delivery strategies and budgets, along with holistic review for our General Medicine Opportunities.  Responsible for mentoring and partnering with IQVIA Customers; Sales, Customer Teams; Proposal Developers & Contract Teams; Therapeutic Strategy Leads; Project Leadership and Functional Teams world-wide to develop robust operational delivery strategies and cost-efficient budgets through innovative clinical trial offerings that differentiate IQVIA in the Marketplace.  Goal is to enhance sales, revenue and profit growth.

Seeking individuals with extensive exposure to Project Management Methodology, Clinical Management (Clinical Manager or Clinical Trial Leader), Customer Management and IQVIA Pricing Tool experience and knowledge. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Works with internal and external customers to develop innovative delivery strategies and budgets during the proposal process that are operationally sound, cost efficient, differentiate IQVIA in the marketplace, while meeting customer needs and winning new business. Focus is on major cost drivers – clinical operations and clinical project management.
  • Provides direction and serves as a senior resource and mentor for sales staff, proposal developers, therapeutic strategy leaders and operational staff regarding operational delivery strategies and budgeting during the proposal process.
  • Provides integrated pricing/delivery support across functions and therapeutic areas in support of customers and the Clinical Development business line.
  • Works with internal customers to translate operational strategies into cost-competitive solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Provides holistic reviews of delivery strategies and budgets for assigned opportunities across all functions.  Goal is to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Support proposal teams at executive sign-off meetings.
  • Fully supports the management team to ensure all team goals and objectives are met.
  • Stays current in organizational and market changes that impact the budgeting process.
  • Supports key corporate initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Exposure to clinical trial delivery components, including managing full scope clinical trials, managing project budgets, and developing operational delivery strategies.
  • Ability to interpret Requests for Proposals and clinical study protocols.
  • Excellent motivation, team building, and leadership skills.
  • Superior computer, analytical, and organization skills.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Experience with direct/indirect customer interface and an understanding of customer needs.
  • Exposure to pricing, finance, operations, contract negotiations and the CRO industry.
  • Strategic business and industry awareness.  Strong analytical skills and experience in evaluating clinical trial delivery plans and budgets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities.
  • Experience and ability to help coach and mentor supported teams.
  • Ability to develop delivery and budgeting strategies to drive growth for a large global organization.
  • Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills sufficient to support analysis and development of delivery strategies and budgets.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Health Sciences or Business or other directly related field and a minimum of 12 years' experience in Clinical Project Management, Clinical Site Management, Business Management, Proposals Management; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • CRO industry, with 7 years operational experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
