We are recruiting for our Clinical Pathology team in Huntingdon and are currently seeking to hire an experienced Laboratory Scientist to help support Clinical, Safety Assessment (SA), and standalone studies over a wide range of platforms, supporting enhanced solutions based approach to Clients requests.

This is a full time position, based at our site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

About the Job:

  • Technical duties within CPS using a variety of Haematology and Chemistry analysers to obtain results for Toxicological and Clinical samples.
  • Participating in all procedures in the operational areas of CPS. These include assays, metrology and general Laboratory support duties.
  • Providing support and assistance to the Senior Scientists with the running of major specialist functions and projects within the department, which includes data checking, validation work, quality control assessments and other new projects.
  • Having a clear understanding of GLP/GCP/SOPs and their implications for CPS, and to work in strict accordance with them at all times.
  • Assisting the Senior Scientists in key aspects of internal training and development activities for other CPS Scientists.
  • Participation in out of hours work.


About You:

To be successful in this position, you will need a Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and some years experience.

Additionally, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good user knowledge of software applications required.
  • Good verbal, numerical and visual skills and excellent manual dexterity.
  • A commitment to fostering a high professional standard and encouraging good staff relationships.
  • A conscientious, disciplined, flexible and adaptable approach, having a sense of responsibility and ensuring that work is performed accurately and precisely and in a timely manner.

Education/Qualifications:
  • Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Experience:
  • Proven experience in a clinical pathology setting.
  • Experience using various related instrumentation.
