At Labcorp Drug Development in Harrogate, North Yorkshire we are looking to recruit a Scientific Coordinator on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our expanding team.

The CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing Controls) division provides end-to-end analytical solutions and testing services to ensure quality control of our clients manufactured drug products.

We work with leading pharmaceutical and biotech clients to ensure that their manufactured drug product or API (Active pharmaceutical Ingredient) passes all quality testing. Once this testing is complete, it brings our clients one-step closer to successfully launching that drug product on the market; helping bring medicine to patients.

As Scientific Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring all materials received in CMC are tracked and recorded accurately in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate will ideally have working knowledge of LIMS and will be required to attend site initially for training however thereafter, will be able to work remotely.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Sample accession core tasks, including delivery receipt, inventory, labelling, storage, disposal, shipping and client communication
  • Use of Departmental systems (LIMS, trackers etc.) as appropriate to maintain sample integrity
  • Ownership of entry and accuracy of data into Departmental systems
  • Accurate interpretation of project specific documentation
  • Reviews of shipping inventory documents against materials received to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Owning and managing process improvement initiatives
  • Maintenance of equipment records used within the team
  • Resolving issues through contacting internal customers as appropriate

Education/Qualifications:
  • Scientific degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences etc.)
  • OR relevant scientific industry experience
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or regulatory environment
  • Experience and application of sample receipt, sample handling, and shipping processes
  • Working knowledge of LIMS
  • Experience and application of aseptic technique
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations (GMP / GLP / GCP)
  • Computing skills, in particular word processing and spreadsheets (e.g. Word, Excel)
