Our Client
Our client offers specialised services supporting drug development for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries internationally. They are a fast-growing global company that prides itself on delivering quality results, every time, for every project.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, your key remit will be to manage all General Operations for their new and expanding site in Brisbane. You will provide strategic input into all aspects of their commercial services, projects, and operations.

General Operations:
  • Support the Monthly Board Reporting on Operations and progress of internal projects.
  • Support pricing reviews and quote preparations.
  • Lead the review and recruitment of resources for the site.
  • Lead the facility relocation project to the new facility, including capex requirements and expansion needs.
  • Develop and manage the laboratory functions within the facility.
  • Mentor and motivate the team to achieve and maintain productivity, and employee engagement.
Commercial Services & Internal Projects:
  • Along with the CEO & Management Team, support contract and legal reviews.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with 3rd party vendors & laboratory partners.
  • Transition newly contracted projects into operations, including setup on the finance system.
  • Oversee all internal business improvement projects within the business.
  • Liaise with the IT function to facilitate business improvements.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and manage key performance metrics including real time capacity and utilisation statuses for the facility.
  • Identify ongoing process improvements, including productivity and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams across the business; lab, operations, marketing, sales, legal, systems, QA, HR.
The Requirements
  • At least 10 years' operational & commercial experience within biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO industries with an understanding of pre-clinical study requirements and GLP.
  • Detailed understanding of pre-clinical /IND enabling study requirements.
  • Experience of Toxicology programs preferred, however not essential.
  • Commercial awareness, partnered with a strategic mindset, strong communication & negotiation skills.
  • Possess an analytical mind with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven record of driving continuous improvements.
  • Experience in planning and delivery of complex projects in a high growth environment.
  • Proven record in leading and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
