So, what is the job?

As a Senior Medical Copywriter, you are an experienced technical copywriter with competency in medical science with a skill set that allows you to create original, persuasive communications, as well as, being able to simplify complex scientific information and present it confidently.

This opportunity will allow you to gain knowledge of the therapeutic areas both technically and scientifically, whilst maintaining a strong understanding of trends and healthcare professional motivations.

As an integral part of the Medical Writing Team, you will help agency teams drive brand strategy and develop new initiatives and the opportunity to shine with a solutions-oriented and proactive mindset. Your strengths as a writer can open the door to carve out a new position with the agency.

  • Drafting high-quality clinical and promotional documents that showcase a good understanding of medical and scientific content
  • Extensive understanding of the drug development process, data analysis, regulatory submissions, and the regulatory environments for scientific and promotional tools in the local market
  • Reviewing content from other writers across other brands to ensure accuracy and consistency. Serving as a reviewer for internal reviews and participating in brainstorming sessions
  • Writing promotional tools, clinical abstract reviews, various patient materials, websites, among other tools
  • Interacting with other departments on data management, biostatistics, regulatory and medical affairs to complete assignments. Reviewing Statistical Analysis plans Specifications for appropriate content and grammar, format and consistency
  • Completing projects on time and within budget while adhering to regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Higher life sciences degree – MSc,  PharmD, or PhD highly preferred.
  • Ideally, 3+ years experience with a background in life sciences and current writing experience in Healthcare/ Medical Communications
  • Highly motivated and driven individual, passionate about science, health and marketing with a desire to keep learning
  • Able to understand scientific and clinical information and then use that knowledge to create strategic and captivating content for various audiences
  • Have the ability to work well within a team, prioritize roles and responsibilities daily and work well under deadline pressure in a team environment
  • Understanding of the key requirements for regulatory submissions

This role will be based on the East Coast with a preference for the New York area. Although other locations will be considered too.
