Global Internship Program:

Exciting opportunity to be part of the Labcorp 2022 Global Internship Program as a Radiosynthesis/Biotransformation Intern!

As a Labcorp intern, you will have the opportunity to support meaningful assignments that compliment an education in STEM+ Business and Healthcare disciplines, and are inspiring and valuable in our mission to improve health and improve lives across the globe. About the Team :
  • The radiosynthesis and metabolite identification teams globally support the Metabolism department, by synthesizing radiolabeled compounds, and supporting studies aimed at understanding the biotransformation of these compounds, which may be derived from across the Pharma, Crop Protection and Chemicals business areas.

Internship Assignment Summary:
  • By working in a cross functional team, you will understand, and become confident in, safe working practices for handling ionizing radiation and routine laboratory maintenance, as well as perform study work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice regulatory requirements to required deadlines.
  • You will develop the skills required to support and conduct synthetic chemistry procedures, eg reaction setup and monitoring, purifications and analysis.
  • You will gain skills associated with metabolite identification and quantitative analysis analytes in biological samples from in vitro and in vivo studies, including gaining hands-on instrumental (LC and LC-MS) experience, as well as use of the associated software.
  • You will be actively involved in all aspects of data processing, data review and QC checking.
  • You will be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement in operational processes and may contribute to the delivery of these improvements.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Working towards bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a closely related subject.


Experience:
  • Be skilled in the use of standard laboratory equipment and computer applications.
  • Have a keen attention to detail and focus on always doing the best you can do.
  • Be open to learning new skills and willing to share your own knowledge with others.
