Medical Lead / Senior Medical Advisor - Solid Oncology. Exciting new opportunity to join an Oncology Medical team contributing to and delivering elements of the medical affairs plan within Solid Oncology across the UK and Ireland.

Role: Medical Lead / Senior Medical Advisor

Location: Head Office, Berkshire, flexibility home working - 3 days office, 2 days home.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Oncology Medical team with a strong pipeline in Oncology. You’ll be responsible for contributing to and delivering elements of the medical affairs plan within Solid Oncology across the UK and Ireland under the leadership of the Medical Franchise lead.

This role gives the chance to work in Oncology where you can make a tangible difference to the lives of patients. The indications we work in have a high unmet need and the medicines we develop provide an option for the patient and the HCPs treating them. You will be working in a team with significant experience in Oncology and the opportunity to lead on high profile projects.

In this role you will:

Provide medical input to the franchise team within their therapy area so that all activities are conducted to high standards consistent with current legal and ethical considerations and Corporate policy.

Implement elements of the therapy area Evidence Generation Programme to meet the local business, regulatory, access and ethical requirements.

Interacting with KOLs to deliver the therapy area medical affairs plan meeting KOL needs, compliance requirements and ethical considerations.

Support ethical compliance within the therapy area working collaboratively with compliance, transparency and other divisions.

Provide medical support to other functions as directed by the Medical Franchise lead in the aligned therapy teams where required e.g. patient engagements, HTA submissions.

Work with members of the medical and commercial oncology teams to develop strategy and plan launches for new medicines and on-going support for portfolio.

Generate data via supporting HCPs and academia in investigator initiated studies, non-interventional studies and the generation of real world evidence.

Work with colleagues in the business unit and patient access to support the access to medicines for patients in the UK and Ireland.

Work with the training department to train both the medical and commercial teams on both clinical insights and scientific literature and publications.

Be externally facing and develop and maintain compliant relationships with our key opinion leaders. Your responsibilities will include working with HCPs and academia for symposia, advisory boards and meetings.

The client is a specialty care global business unit, dedicated to high quality support of patients with rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, cancer and immune diseases. Working across human health from vaccines to rare diseases, and consumer healthcare.

Qualifications:

GMC registered physician or pharmacist

Pharmaceutical experience as final signatory within Medical Affairs in oncology.

Full driving licence and ability to travel within the UK and internationally.

The person/experience:

Previous pharmaceutical experience as final signatory within Medical Affairs in oncology.

Experience of working in a medical advisor, clinical research or similar role where there is strong evidence of gaining healthcare professional insight and providing medical input into brand strategy.

Ability to quickly and comprehensively learn about new therapy areas and environments.

Knowledge of the UK National Healthcare System and the pharmaceutical industry.

Knowledge of statistical methods.

Experience of working effectively in cross functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with External Experts.

Demonstrated ability to write scientific publications.

Knowledge of pricing issues and experience of contribution to HTA dossiers.

Complete knowledge of UK and EU regulations e.g. MHRA, GVP.

Advanced presentation skills.

Advanced user of Microsoft Office software products.

Innovative approaches to managing external customers and internal partners.

Leading edge approaches to capturing customer insight.

Knowledge of key markets research terms and modes of analysis.
