Job Details

Hobson Prior have an exciting position for a Head of Clinical Pharmacology to join a global biotechnology organisation whose mission is to make a difference in AML patient care.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the Clinical Pharmacology / PKPD strategy and development program in collaboration with in-house expert functions and external consultants.
  • Ensure consistency of the nonclinical ADME package (including bioanalytical methods) with the Clinical Pharmacology strategy for current and potential new indications.
  • Provide expert scientific input on pharmacodynamic endpoints and biomarkers pertinent to the underlying pathophysiology of immunology-related diseases or compound mechanism of action.
  • Design and interpret Clinical Pharmacology studies to evaluate potential effects of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on PK and PD.
  • Be accountable for Clinical Pharmacology / PKPD and nonclinical ADME deliverables and registration packages by coordinating in-house or external activities.
  • Liaise with key expert functions and management to identify potential project hurdles, provide solutions and contribute to contingency plans.
  • Be responsible for the budget and resources allocated to Clinical Pharmacology / PKPD and nonclinical ADME activities.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of licensing-in opportunities and patent filings.
  • Provide technical and operational support for PKPD and pharmacometrics database management in collaboration with internal experts and external providers.
  • Responsible for the timely and effective communication of strategy and results to Project Teams and Management.
  • Responsible for external communication of Clinical Pharmacology / PKPD and ADME results to congresses and scientific meetings.

Requirements:

  • PhD/PharmD/MD, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years' experience as a clinical pharmacologist or PKPD project leader in a cross-functional clinical development team in big pharma or biotech.
  • Hands on expertise in PKPD analysis and sound understanding of pharmacometrics.
  • Strong scientific expertise in immunology with an excellent understanding of immuno-pathophysiological processes. Prior experience with therapies in hematology is a plus.
  • Experience in managing CROs and external service providers.
  • Excellent understanding of translational science, including biomarker development and validation.
  • Proven track record in leading a scientific team(s) and direct and/or indirect people management experience in big pharma companies.
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of clinical pharmacology registration documents.
  • Proven track record in direct interaction with health authorities.
