Job Details

IQVIA is excited to announce a new patient support program across Australia.

This is a national in-home program that is used to treat patients with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn’s disease in people who don’t have enough improvement from other medications.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse in Mount Gambier SA with recent IV infusion and subcutaneous experience who might be interested in this type of work on a casual basis.

The nurse is required to collect the medication from the nominated pharmacy and transport via cold chain to the patients’ home to administer the infusion for 30 minutes in the patient’s home with 15-minute post observations taken.
• Confirming each visit with patient
• Collect the IV medication from the pharmacy and deliver to the patient’s home
• Setting up and conducting the infusion in a location that is suitable and comfortable for the patient
• Completing post infusion paperwork within 24 hours of visit
• Reporting of any adverse events as per program protocol

Alternatively the nurse is required to train a patient how to self-administer a sub-cutaneous injection (either pre-filled syringe or pre-filled pen).
• Confirming each visit with patient and ensure that the patient has the sub-cutaneous injection in their refrigerator ready for the visit
• Setting up and conducting the training in a location that is suitable and comfortable for the patient
• Completing post training paperwork within 24 hours of visit
• Reporting of any adverse events as per program protocol

Training is provided and paid as it travel to the patients home 

Essential skills and qualifications required:
• RN (Current Registration)
• Current Basic Life Support / Advanced Life Support Certificate
• Current/ full/ unrestricted driver’s licence
• At least 12 months recent cannulation and IV infusion experience
• Hand Hygiene Certificate & Infection Prevention Control Certificate
• Police Check & Working with Children Check
• IT Proficient
• Flexible with time and days

Desirable but not needed:
• Community nursing experience
• Porta Cath, fistula, PICC line experience
