Description:

The Assembly operator is responsible for the set up and running a variety of Assembly lines where drug-filled blister strip and plastic components are assembled into respiratory devices ready for packing.

Requirements for this role:
* Experience in a pharmaceutical environment
* Previous experience on an assembly line
* Operator Assessment Kit test (completed with Gi Group)
* Preferred Level of Education GCSE Mathematics & English or equivalent.
* Basic computer literacy

Role-specific responsibilities:
* To set up batches (booking materials on to computer systems, physically bringing the materials onto line, and setting up batch information on laser printers, etc), checking all details against batch documentation.
* To operate the line, monitoring reject levels and responding to machine stoppages (identifying and correcting issues where possible and escalating to Engineering Technical Operator (ETO) ); replenishing component hoppers to ensure continuous production is maintained.
* To carry out routine In-process checks during batch manufacture and where results fall out of specifications escalate to ETO in accordance with SOPs and batch documentation.
* To perform all start of batch checks and critical device challenges to ensure the Assembly machines and ancillary equipment operate within specification to ensure consistent quality of manufactured devices.
* To complete all batch documentation in an accurate and timely manner; to perform end of batch reconciliations and documentation, including use of company Information Technology (IT) systems (including the Systems Applications & Products / Manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning Solution [SAP/MERPS])
* To perform line clearance at the end of each batch to prevent cross contamination of the subsequent batch
* To check all documentation and sign off each batch before forwarding to Quality Assurance (QA) department.
* To order components from the warehouse to ensure adequate supplies are maintained, using the appropriate IT system; also to return surplus components to the warehouse when necessary.
* To carry out all cleaning activities specified in area SOPs and SW.
* To take on additional roles within the department, as agreed with the individuals manager and in accordance with the area Team Plan.
