This is an exciting opportunity as a Specialist Nurse to work in Partnership with the client’s NHS colleagues to provide ethical and professional nursing services within the Chronic Care Division (Bladder, Bowel and Stoma Care) within NMC guidelines.  

You will be an experienced nurse with relevant clinical skill and who has the passion, drive and commitment to deliver specialist Intermittent Self Catheterisation, Bowel or Ostomy Care within the acute and community. You will be able to work as an independent practitioner, be self-motivated and have a winning mindset. You will also be a strategic thinker who wants to build on your commercial awareness and skill. The successful candidate will be able to display empathy and have an excellent ability to develop trust. To do this you will have excellent communication skills, including listening, interpersonal and influencing skills.

In this role you will:

  • Provide Professional and Ethical care to patients utilising evidence-based practice in compliance with professional standards and guidelines.
  • Work to achieve Key Performance Indicators and demonstrate key outcomes for patients, services and the Company business.
  • Demonstrate key skills and competency to reflect Clinical Nurse Specialist status and practice these standards within the given therapy areas.
  • Seek opportunities to support NHS and Healthcare partners by developing and delivering patient pathways and high-quality standards of care and demonstrate the effectiveness of them.
  • Support the Company Business to secure and develop preferred partnerships.
  • Effectively and efficiently plan, manage and organize caseload and time and continually seek to drive efficiencies in workload through the establishment of clinical reviews and virtual reviews.
  • Work with the Company stakeholders to set up route of care for patients and consumers through the virtual offering.
  • Deliver education and support in therapy via engagement and support meetings on the digital platform.
  • Communicate effectively and provide feedback to patients / carers and referring Healthcare professional.
  • Continuously collect customer feedback through audit and analyse and feedback to key stakeholder and continually seek to improve services
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with Company, Legal and Professional requirements.
  • Instigate working practices to ensure collaborative working between different stakeholders e.g. acute and community health care teams.
  • Generate and maintain effective working relationships with health care professionals across the region.
  • Deliver educational support to fellow health care professionals.
  • To act as a resource in providing expert information and advice to patients, carers, public and professional agencies as appropriate.
  • Undertake service audit / evaluation activities in order to monitor standards, maintain service provision and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in research activities and initiate opportunities to evaluate the experience of patients living with intimate healthcare needs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level Registered General Nurse.
  • Full drivers’ licence.

Experience Required:

  • Registered General Nurse.
  • Experience maintaining professional portfolio in accordance with NMC / NMBI requirements.
  • Expert Clinician.
  • Urology, bowel or stoma care experience desirable.
  • Take responsibility for keeping up to date with trends / changes in the NHS and clinical developments within specialty. Disseminate information to colleagues effectively.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Sound interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • IT proficient.
