Summary of the Position:
We are looking for a BioAnalytical Manager to join our Laboratories department.
The BioAnalytical Manager is a key part of the Laboratory Services management team, leading the Bioanalytical group to analyse drugs, their metabolites and other analytes in biological fluids and pharmaceutical preparation, to GCLP standards for clients. Accountable for the people management, lab processes, facilities, resource management, and compliance of the Bioanalytical group.
Interacts with the Laboratory Project Management Lead daily to ensure the business executes in line with expected metrics and timelines and acts as a point of contact for clients to win work and maintain working relationships.

The BioAnalytical Manager is a key part of the Laboratory Services management team, leading the Bioanalytical group to analyse drugs, their metabolites and other analytes in biological fluids and pharmaceutical preparation, to GCLP standards for clients. Accountable for the people management, lab processes, facilities, resource management, and compliance of the Bioanalytical group.

Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the bioanalytical group's day-to-day operations, ensuring client expectations are met for all client projects.
- Support the employees of the Bioanalytical group to ensue they reach any development goals.
- Ensures all process within the Bioanalytical are documented and executed in line with the expected regulations, including data integrity.
- Act as a central point of communication for the group both internally and externally.
- Ensure that all departmental metrics are collected, reported and adhered to.
- Be a key part of the Laboratory Services management structure, liaising with the other Lab Services managers to ensure successful delivery of customer projects and process improvement.
- Implement new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and facilities to a compliant, and presentable standard.
- Maintain personal training records, to demonstrate competency and train and mentor staff, and where appropriate identify training and development needs.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience in performing analysis in a laboratory environment.
- Biochemistry Science degree or equivalent.
- Team leadership experience in a scientific laboratory.
- Experience of Implementation of new tests or analytical systems.
- Experience with Financial management e.g P&L, Large budget management
- Experience of working to GCLP (or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Higher degree in an analytical related subject
- Experience in streamlining and improving operational processes
- Management qualification and experience in techniques in line with the group science strategy
