I am currently working with a market leading global CRO who are committed to bringing life changing drugs and therapies to quickly to market and have an exciting opportunity for a Statistical Programmer II to join them. This is a fully home-based role that can be based in the UK or across Europe.

As a Statistical Programmer II you will be expected to provide technical expertise to develop and maintain programs to meet internal and external clients’ needs as well as plan and lead the development of project-related solutions to the full scope of statistical programming tasks.

What you will be doing:

  • Write and maintain programming specifications datasets.
  • Program TLFs, maximize programming efficiency with use of biostatistical tools, where applicable. Check resulting output for format and content, and question specifications as needed, whilst ensuring consistency across items produced.
  • Perform as lead programmer (or assist) on assigned studies and work closely with the Biostatistics Team, to deliver on time, with high quality and within budget.
  • Develop efficient programming strategy utilizing available tools and creation/ maintenance of project specific macros, ensuring compliance with Good Programming Practice as per SOPs.
  • Demonstrate and promote efficient communication, participate, or even run meetings, document where necessary, provide progress updates and follow up on actions.
  • Plan and document timelines, forecast resource needs, deal with any issues if work may be out of scope.
  • Perform programming review of SAP and shells, where applicable, write programming specifications/shells for safety outputs, where applicable.
  • Assist with any staff training regarding operational items and mentor junior employees.

What you will need to have:

  • MSC/BSC in computer science or relevant in health-related field.
  • Experience in statistical programming using SAS in the CRO/Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/ Healthcare industry.
  • Project Lead experience specifically directly engaging clients and coordinating tasks within a programming team.
  • An in-depth knowledge of applicable clinical research regulatory requirements, i.e., Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
  • Deep knowledge of statistics, programming and/or clinical drug development process and advanced knowledge of Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS Graph and SAS Macro Language.
  • Good organisational, social, leadership and communication skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently lead multiple tasks and projects and to delegate work to other members of the Statistical Programming team.
  • Exhibit routine and occasionally complex analytical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients.
