Our client is seeking a passionate and diligent Research Associate to work in their rapidly growing Biomarkers business. They are a medium sized company with a start-up mentality with offices located across the globe.

The main purpose and objective of a Research Associate is to, under direct supervision, use fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular platforms to perform routine clinical sample processing tasks requiring application of established techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Tasks & Responsibilities;

• Perform good housekeeping (GHK) of the laboratory.

• Maintenance and proper use of instruments and laboratory space.

• Monitoring use and consumption of reagents, material and consumables via LIMS.

• Perform assays as per in-house SOPs and validated protocols with minimal supervision involving various biological samples.

• Ensure clear audit trails by performing quality control of all information and data generated.

• Support senior scientists with the development of various assays.

• Assist with multiple projects in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

• Strong adherence to regulatory compliance and safety requirements, involving GCLPs, SOPs, H&S policies, and other related documents.

• Administrative duties including writing and maintaining study documentation.

• Assess systems being used and identify areas for improvement.

• Must be completely flexible to workdays and weekends on a shift rotation basic.

Minimum Requirements;

• BSc. in Life/Biological Sciences (preferably immunology); or with 3 years of experience in the equivalent work or in a relevant technical role. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a laboratory in flow cytometry/ELISA, excellent technical skills and experience in running and analysing immunological assays (Flow Cytometry, ELISA, ECL, ELISpot etc) and operating laboratory equipment (e.g. flow cytometers / MSD / Epoch / Autoanalysers). (Flow specific requirement)

• Expertise in immune cell isolation techniques and experience with primary cell culture techniques. (ELISA specific requirement)

• Expertise in soluble biomarker/ immunoassay techniques and experience with cell culture techniques. Position level will be determined based on skills, education/experience.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, strong sense of teamwork and multi-tasking skills.

• Ability to handle pressure, interact and function in a highly productive work environment.

• Ability to maintain composure and focus on situations of ambiguity and uncertainty.

• Communication Skills: should be fluent in English (read, written, spoken).

• Attention to detail and critical thinking.
