In the UK and Ireland many of the products are supplied via national NHS frameworks and there is a strong commercial focus in the Octapharma Limited business.

The Role

The Portfolio Manager for Haematology and Immunotherapy will be responsible for creating, managing, and implementing insights-based sales and marketing objectives and activities across the Haematology and Immunotherapy portfolio with all relevant stakeholders in line with organisational goals and sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement insights-based product and marketing activities, such as market access, launch and pre-launch, and variations management in line with framework requirements and market position and company pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team and other stakeholders to develop and implement product plans, materials, and activities.
  • Customer engagement activities including insights gathering to increase product area expertise including product usage and handling, international activities, data generation and clinical guidance and product and educational projects.
  • Contribute to the development of framework strategies by providing clinical, commercial, and competitor insights and analysis with relevant stakeholders.                                           
  • To be an integral and active member of the International Business Unit, attending meetings and congresses as required.
  • Maintain and demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of products, pricing, competitor activity, commercial environments, and scientific developments in the assigned therapy areas.  
  • In collaboration with the Scientific Service Manager develop, coordinate, support and implement scientific service activities both on and off label in line with the PMCPA code of practice and other regulations.

Ideal Candidate

The hybrid nature of the role would suit anyone in a hospital or sales management role with experience of marketing projects or current marketeers with a track record of customer engagement.  Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or above in Life Science or related field or equivalent.
  • ABPI qualified and have a working understanding and adherence to the ABPI code of practice. 
  • Able to demonstrate both marketing and customer development skills. 
  • Be an effective communicator and influencer, achieving results independently and through others. 
  • Detailed and thorough in analysis, planning and administration. 
  • Strong drive for results with an ability to work at many levels with a variety of people and be comfortable performing their role both in the office and out in the field with customers. 
  • Proven commercial and busines acumen to facilitate decision making will be beneficial with the ability to use insights to develop materials and activities a core part of the role. 
  • Desire to collaborate with all stakeholders to develop concepts, activities and materials is a necessity and will often require project-based work. 
  • Familiarity with marketing materials development using systems such as VEEVA Promomats is beneficial but not essential.
  • Effective business planning, time management and prioritisation are core traits when managing this diverse workload. 
  • Travel across the UK and Ireland will be necessary with regular international travel for meetings and congresses.
