Job Description

  • To assist in the conduct of Phase 1 studies across all therapeutic areas in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and following local regulatory requirements and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • To provide supervised support for the Research Physicians in an Early Phase Clinical Unit (EPCU)
  • To provide support to the Research Physicians in the EPC
  • All duties and tasks will be under supervision of the medical director or designee
  • To perform clinical procedures as required (e.g. ECGs, Vitals, Dose checker).
  • To prepare and quality check the draft safety data for the Physicians to review (e.g. extract safety data from ClinBase, ensure all data present, check flags and abnormal results)
  • Quality check normal ranges for clinical and laboratory parameters: ECGs, Vital Signs, Laboratory Results and if applicable male / female ranges
  • Assist with checking / testing of electronic data capture systems and that these reflect protocol requirements
  • Assist with the resolution of queries from monitors, sponsors, Quality Assurance / Quality Management, and data management teams
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations (PowerPoint) where appropriate.
  • To provide assistance with the scanning, filing and distribution of study documents in (e)TMF, ISF and support the medical department with administration and managing study documents
  • To assist in the conduct of Phase I and Phase II studies across all therapeutic areas in accordance with International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and following local regulatory requirements and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), to ensure that welfare of the subjects and the quality and credibility of study data is maintained.
  • To be responsible for the quality of completion of appropriate sections of Case Report Forms
  • To assist in enter clinical data into ClinBase ready for physician sign off (e.g. EEG data, Holter / Telemetry data)
  • Qualifications

    Skills:
  • Detail orientated with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Confident and calm personality, able to liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.

  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • Previous experience in an administrative role.

  • Education:
  • Educated to 'GCSE' or equivalent standard as a minimum.
