Job Details

Hobson Prior are currently in search for a Materials Manager to join a Biotech organisation who are creating innovative products that have never been made before. The role will be on a permanent basis and you will be based in Stevenage in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To partner with the manufacturing and operations teams to ensure supplies are maintained at all times for planned manufacturing and equipment servicing and PPM activities.
  • Be accountable for the purchase of materials required for manufacturing team activities including batch manufacture, training and process validation.
  • Be accountable for the purchase of materials required for operations team activities including equipment servicing and maintenance.
  • You will be working with the Head of Manufacturing, Operations Manager and Technical Manager to schedule training, validation and clinical batches and supporting activities.
  • Partner with the technical manager and operations manager to flag any issues relating to material supply which could impact scheduling, facility, equipment or manufacturing activities.
  • To ensure that approved bills of materials from technical and operations teams are in-place for equipment servicing, PPM and delivery of training, PV and Clinical batches
  • Organise with the manufacturing team, QC materials team and the warehouse to schedule the receipt, release and picking of inventory according to the manufacturing schedule.
  • You will ensure all documentation required for receipt and release of manufacturing materials are available for QC materials team review.
  • Manage the inventory of starting materials, reagents, consumables and DP stored ensuring all materials are stored as per approved specifications.
  • Be the dedicated Supply Chain team liaison for coordinating the receipt and dispatch of clinical material and finished products.
  • Working closely with the Head of Manufacturing to confirm that the required initial and continuing training of the materials team is carried out and adapted according to need.
  • Be part of the cross functional team to evaluate, select and implement 3PL warehousing to support manufacturing operations.
  • Any other assigned duties.

  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working in materials management. Preferably in biotech.
  • A sound knowledge of GMP and the requirements for material management and control.
