ICON plc is a world-leading healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization. From molecule to medicine, we advance clinical research providing outsourced services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and government and public health organizations.

With our patients at the centre of all that we do, we help to accelerate the development of drugs and devices that save lives and improve quality of life.

Our people are our greatest strength, are at the core of our culture, and the driving force behind our success. ICON people have a mission to succeed and a passion that ensures what we do, we do well.

Firecrest Clinical is part of the ICON plc Group and produces highly visual and engaging products for the Clinical Trial Industry. Firecrest products help improve Site performance by delivering innovative and effective training to sites while complying with Industry Standards. As an organisation responsible for the development of clinical training for medical staff, the Content and Functional Reviewer role is critical to the delivery of accurate and high quality training products to our clients.

The Role:

We are currently expanding our Pharmacology team based in Limerick or Dublin.

The Pharmacologist will play a significant role in the development of medical and/or science-based 3D animations which provide overviews of the disease area in question and the mechanism of action of the investigational medicinal product.

The Pharmacologist will research the source content (clinical trial protocols and other study materials), together with external sources (e.g peer-reviewed literature and multimedia sources), to prepare scripts and visuals that are technically and scientifically accurate, clear, and concise, and which meet the client's needs.

The Pharmacologist will work in conjunction with the 3D Graphic Designers to produce 3D medical animations that are engaging and visually appealing.

In addition, the Pharmacologist creates case studies for each study, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the clinical trial protocol. These case studies play a significant role in the Firecrest Protocol Overview training module.

Our team is looking for highly literate, creative and meticulous professionals who will be able to create content and storyboards related to disease pathophysiology and drug mechanisms of action, for our high-quality training products.

In addition, the Pharmacologist will focus on continuous improvement, helping to identify potential product improvements and innovative approaches to the design and development of training products within Firecrest.

Requirement:
  • The successful candidate should have a Bachelor of Science degree or local equivalent
  • Masters (with 1-2 years industry experience) or Doctorate (Academic) in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related field.

  • You will be able to work effectively to tight deadlines.
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and assume individual responsibility for own deliverables.
  • Good team player, with experience working in a multi-functional team.
