Job Details
This is an opening for a physician to join the Pediatric and Rare Disease Center of Excellence at IQVIA. The optimal candidate will have training and clinical experience in pediatrics. Industry and regulatory experience in pediatrics and rare disease is helpful.
The candidate will perform a variety of functions in the organization including but not limited to:
• Providing expert advice to the development of medically sound delivery strategies for small to large and/or complex multi-region studies in partnership with sales and other functions responsible for business development activities.
• Responsible for the development of the medically related aspects of client proposals.
• Providing medical and scientific advice to key internal stakeholders developing proposals: this may include, but is not limited to, reviewing the protocol for scientific/regulatory soundness and feasibility, identification of target site and principal investigator profiles, anticipated patient recruitment, standard of care and competitive landscape.
• Attending and presenting at bid defense meetings, as required.
• Participating in strategic business development activities including presentations to prospective clients.
• Maintaining awareness of industry development and authoring related publications.
• Consulting activities across the organization as billable work will be a small part of the position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• A Physician with experience in pediatrics.
• A degree from an accredited and internationally recognized school is required. Physicians with sub specialization in any pediatric field will be considered. Most important will be the ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas and think broadly across all pediatric medicine.
• 5+ years clinical research relevant experience and/or drug development experience.
• Robust and current knowledge of scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and competitive landscape in pediatric and rare disorders.
• Excellent skills in providing consultation and advice on multiple assignments are required, as well as initiative and flexibility.
• In depth knowledge of, and skill in applying, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements; e.g. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, have difficult conversations with internal/external stakeholders and customers, negotiate solutions and understand impacts on the overall offering.
• Strong clinical research skills and commitment to evidence-based and patient-centered clinical development.
