Senior Account Manager
The main role of the Senior Account Manager (SAM) is to run client accounts day to-day requirements effectively, develop relationships with clients in a leadership capacity, and demonstrate strong competencies in strategic counsel. They will work closely with senior members of the team to ensure projects are in line with budget and specifications.
Parameters
- Each client account is managed by a team headed by an Account Director and is supported by one or more of the following – an Associate Account Executive, an Account Executive, and an Account Manager.
- Lead a small account team with business up to the value of £500k.
- Home-based.
- Travel to client companies and events in the UK and globally, as required.
- Potential line management of up to two members of staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members/freelancers and other third-party suppliers to provide coherent, high-quality client service.
- Develop strong relationships with the editorial teams to support them in quality delivery and ensure smooth running and optimal communication within the extended team and with clients.
- Manage, lead and motivate Client Services team members, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain project critical paths, ensuring all resources are in place to meet delivery milestones.
- Prepare standard and bespoke budgets and monitor financial status of accounts, ensuring margins are maintained and that early action is taken with clients where project specifications change.
- Ensure accurate financial tracking and forecasting for all projects – lead the account optimisation process for own account and updating CMAP system appropriately.
- Demonstrate awareness of client aims and objectives, and ensure compliance with all client-specific MSA (Master Service Agreement) requirements, guidelines, training and tools.
- Fully understand and implement industry guidelines, codes of practice and legislation (in particular PHMRA code, ABPI code and be aware of other relevant standards such as Good Publication Practice, ABPI, ICMJE, Sunshine Act, copyright, etc) and support colleagues and clients in implementing these at all times, keeping compliance knowledge up to date.
- Ensure that all project deliverables are high quality and meet client expectations.
