The LES Domain Architect takes responsibility for the architecture and design of LES projects. Working closely with the LES Lead Architect and Infrastructure Engineering team, the Domain Architect is responsible for producing the High-Level Design for projects. The Domain Architect applies Enterprise Architecture principles, frameworks, standards and design patterns to projects. They review and approve Low-Level Designs produced by the project implementation SMEs against the agreed High-Level Design for the project.

Principal Accountabilities

Define and maintain domain architectures:
  • Define the domain architectures for LES projects and programmes, including process & organisation, application, data, integration, infrastructure, operations and security aspects;
  • Lead the selection of package / system components and usage within the architecture;
  • Ensure functional and non-functional requirements for applications, interfaces and data are clearly understood and implemented;
  • Produce the Solution Options and High-Level Design for projects and programmes

The key output of the Domain Architect is the High-Level Design, providing the high-level process, organisation, application, data, integration, infrastructure, operations and security architectures.

Provide architecture governance:
  • Ensure all LES developments / changes are aligned with the Enterprise Architecture;
  • Provide architecture leadership, ensuring that all LES decisions reflect architecture best-practice and adhere to CSL architecture standards;
  • Act as the key touch-point between the I&T and project delivery teams, bringing the right information to I&T and ensuring any issues / concerns are raised for resolution;
  • Review project low-level designs and implementation to ensure quality, coherence & consistency with solution architecture


Serve as a trusted advisor to all projects and programmes delivering for LES:
  • Provide essential input as the architecture expert to any business change project;
  • Ensure that changes are only made where the full technical impact is understood;
  • Provide technical leadership, ensuring that all IT decisions reflect best-practice within Seqirus


Knowledge and experience:
  • Broad and deep experience in the delivery of solution architecture for business projects;
  • Practical experience of applying Enterprise Architecture artefacts (Business, Application, Data) to solution designs;
  • Deep understanding and experience of architectural frameworks (i.e. TOGAF);
  • Experience of a highly-regulated IT environment, including formal change management processes;
  • Demonstrate the flexibility needed to adjust to the customer needs when appropriate or stand firm when required;
  • Experience of vendor selection processes;
  • Experience in ensuring project delivery teams apply the architectural frameworks consistently


Skills:
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and ability to prioritise in complex and high-pressure project environments;
  • Extensive experience managing both internal and external technical staff at all levels and of differing technical abilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable ability to influence others;
  • Decisive, focused on priorities, demonstrating high engagement levels;
  • Proven ability to communicate upwards with no surprises;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
