About You

We are currently hiring a Digital Engagement Lead for our dynamic Business Operations and Marketing Excellence team for a 1 year fixed-term contract.

You will report to the Head of Omnichannel Customer Engagement and one of your main accountabilities will be to lead the Website and Social Media workstreams. You will be a key player to shape omni-channel campaigns, develop the omni-channel capabilities and be the point of contact for affiliates in regards to omni-channel activities. This is a truly unique opportunity to play a key role in the expansion and transformation of Vifor Pharma.

Overall main accountabilities:

  • Supporting the design, implementation, and evolution of the Omnichannel Customer Engagement strategy and its core programs/initiatives (including prioritization).
  • Steering and supporting the execution of OCE tactics, including localization (i.e. the development and execution of cross functional campaigns in line with Therapy Areas / Brand strategic imperatives and customer insights).
  • Structuring and/or refining (re-engineering) OCE critical processes and technological solutions / supporting platforms (including interfaces).
  • Managing platforms and tools to support cross-functional initiatives (including training and coaching, identifying/applying industry best practice and scouting/piloting of innovative solutions).
  • Advising brand teams (inclusive of marketing, market access and medical) / business units enabling effective omnichannel customer engagement and mastering digital channels (inclusive of, but not limited to, website, social media, virtual congresses & events, email).
  • Measuring and monitoring effectiveness ensuring insights and learnings are formalized (effective reporting) and looped back into Brand Planning process (close-loop-marketing) and campaigns/customer journeys design.
  • Ensuring understanding of, and adherence to, legal and compliance rules.
  • Acting as key HQ contact person to Global and Local Brand Teams (affiliates), specifically for work-streams under direct responsibility, fostering best practice sharing and supporting capability building.
  • Representing a pivotal role in establishing OCE Team as a centre of excellence providing multiple stakeholders with relevant services and products ensuring synergies and increased efficiency.
  • Leverage synergies and work hyper collaboratively with other work-stream leads within OCE Team and Marketing Excellence Team as well as with regards to the broader organization. Master agile way of working.


Websites and Social Media main accountabilities:

  • Lead the definition of Vifor Pharma overall website strategy (2021-2025) and the design of Corporate templates for Portals for HCP and/or Patients, Branded/Promotional pages, Unbranded/Disease State Education/ Disease Awareness pages
  • Steer the design work led by agencies supporting Global Brand teams and Local Brand teams (in collaboration with local Multichannel champions)
  • Support the design of customer journeys involving websites and social media channels to be deployed via Marketing Automation tools (OCE Digital by IQVIA and Veeva)
  • Lead on the design of meaningful reporting for websites and social media to be deployed on Power BI in collaboration with Data & Analytics Team
  • Lead on the definition of relevant KPI/analytics for websites and social media, including how these are consistently consulted to inform decisions on conversion, site structure and contents
  • Lead on cookie management maximizing current available solution (OneTrust) and forthcoming one (e.g. Server-to-Server)
  • Lead on authentication process as required (DocCheck, SwissRX, OWA)
  • Own existing website and social media corporate guidelines leading continuous improvements and updates (including roll-out to relevant targets)
  • Design and deliver trainings to end-users


The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Ideal expertise:

  • Masters Content Management System platforms (and in particular Drupal)
  • Masters hosting solutions (and ideally Acquia Site Factory) in order to steer, evaluate and challenge Vifor's technology stack
  • Masters website coding technologies (in particular Drupal) in order to steer, evaluate and challenge Vifor's development partner
  • Proven experience in working with outsourced Center of Excellence / Digital Factories / Service Centers for the production of digital assets (e.g. websites, eDetailers, e-blast)
  • Knowledge of Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) and Social Media listening solutions
  • Masters hootsuite


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • University degree or higher education qualification(s) preferably in marketing, business studies, technology / media related discipline.
  • Proven employment history (client or agency side) with demonstrable knowledge and experience
  • Project management including multiple-stakeholder, budget, human resources and vendors management preferably in an international environment
  • Deep knowledge of supporting functions and field roles and related operations/processes specific to Pharma.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations/processes critical to Omnichannel Marketing in Pharma (Close Loop Marketing, Customer Engagement Orchestration, Brand Planning, Multichannel plan development, Key Account management)
  • Ability to design, plan & deliver multichannel / digital marketing campaigns including measuring & reporting on campaign analytics & KPIs
  • Masters channels those can be enabled to elevate customer engagement including, but not limited to, web/digital design & UX principles, website development and content management, email marketing campaigns and campaign management system(s), remote interactions tools, interactive detail aid and compliant field emails
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with experience interacting with C-suite and board level executives
  • Ability to conceptualize and create executive level presentation
