Maintenance Technician – Destacker

On behalf of my client, I am recruiting for a Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate must be a Qualified Electrician; and will be responsible for role modelling all Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, Safety Inspections and Hazardous Area standards to ensure the safety of themselves and others working in the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To execute maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical equipment including instrumentation ensuring safe, reliable plant delivering products of the highest quality, to agreed plans and achieve customer requirements and cost.
  • Apply Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques such as RCA,5 Whys, RCM, 5S, and any new techniques that emerge to drive site performance towards world class in terms of customer service and quality.
  • Asset Care - support and lead on implementing world class standards.
  • Ensure Asset Care Documentation is completed accurately.
  • Develop, Revise and review related technical documents (Maintenance Plans, SOP's, BOM's etc).
  • Record all activity in SAP and actively use this system to support all maintenance activity.
  • Safe Systems of work permitting and organisation.
  • Deliver Daily and weekly Asset Care Plan.
  • Regular Continuous Improvement activity supporting the Improvement plan for the site.
  • Represent Asset Care at the daily operational meetings.
  • Ensure Asset Care KPI's for the team are above target.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Time served Electrician with QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Electrical or equivalent.
  • High-level diagnostic and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Process plant and associated maintenance activities.
  • 5 Years’ Experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with SCADA process control systems for production and fault diagnosis.
  • Understand and be highly proficient in information systems, e.g. MES, SAP, Email, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of H&S statutory requirements, responsibilities and obligations.
