Role & Responsibilities
adopt and champion the AstraZeneca approach to Lean encompassed within the AstraZeneca Supply System
Develop your knowledge of Lean and the organisation in order to act as an effective partner for their customers
Work with the PTD Lean team to deploy Lean effectively with the part of the organisation that you are supporting.
The AstraZeneca Supply System provides a common framework for Lean for all of AZ, encompassing Lean Leadership and Technical tools. The AstraZeneca Supply System is governed by the AZ Lean CoE and executed by the deployed Lean roles.
Job holders adopt the AstraZeneca Supply System and use their previous experience and expertise to improve the system from within, rather than operate autonomously
The AZ Change Framework provides the system by which AZ sites and functions with very different levels of Lean Capability, will achieve specific goals with respect to Lean capability uplift and benefit delivery. The post holder must demonstrate the confidence and competence to correctly gauge the current state of capability and provide inspiration, guidance, challenge and support that provides the appropriate stretch to the business area they support.Skills and Capabilities
Support Functional colleagues to understand the appropriate Lean strategy and annual Lean plan
Support Functional colleagues to implement effective policy deployment, metrics and PDCA to ensure progress and benefit delivery
Hold self to account to deliver agreed Lean strategy & annual plan
Member of PT&D Lean team working with other team members and PT&D Lean Lead to ensure Functional Lean strategy supports PT&D goals
Provide coaching and deliver/organises Lean training aligned to 70-20-10 to PT&D colleagues
A champion/conscience/advocate for Lean across the Function
Lean strategy and annual Lean plan must deliver required uplift in Lean maturity and business value
Engage function sub-groups in the Lean strategy and annual Lean plan
Track Lean maturity uplift and benefit delivery and agree actions to mitigate slippage as appropriate
Functional Lean strategy supports E2E business success
Function members achieve and sustain prescribed minimum standard competence for Lean
Bachelors in Scientific/ Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience
Experience of AstraZeneca Operations, and applying Lean approaches within that environment
Demonstrated capability to lead process improvement efforts.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
Effective internal consulting skills with all levels of management.
Working knowledge of the DMAIC process.
Working knowledge of Lean Tools such as VSM, Kaizen, etc.
Working knowledge of statistical process control concepts, data analysis, diagnostic tools and techniques.
SixSigma Green Belt certification from an American Society of Quality (ASQ) recognized program (or equivalent)
Prior product development roles within the pharmaceutical industry
Proven ability to improve pharmaceutical processes through the application of variety of continuous improvement approaches
Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and groups in lean, sixsigma and process improvements.
Demonstrated experience in leading or facilitating change initiatives
Expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodology.
