We have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Process Specialist to join our Global External Sourcing team on a 12-Month Contract.

Global External Sourcing (GES) are responsible for ensuring the continuity of supply, of new and established AstraZeneca brands. Together with our GES colleagues, we manage the supply of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) into our business and supply chains. This includes some formulated and finished pack products.

What you'll do

As a Supply Chain Process Specialist, you will primarily work in the Supply to Customer process, leading and supporting different initiatives with supply and planning expertise. This is delivered in close collaboration with other GES roles, such as Planning Leads and their teams, Supply Chain Leads, Data Associates, and other Local Process Champions.

In this role you will support the Global Process Owner in ongoing improvements by providing detailed and local process expertise. You will be accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining tools, processes and guidelines within GES as well as leading a number of projects in your area of responsibility.

In addition, you will;

  • Be the local process champion, for the global short and medium term planning processes; global Deployment process; Inventory, Rolling Budget Update and Annual Budget Update process

  • Champion process changes and support super users and end users in acceptance and implementation of changes to their way of working

  • Maintain, develop and apply planning processes in line with AZ global business standards

  • Be a member of the global process super user network to provide detailed business process expertise and represent GES by sharing improvements, challenges, and raising issues to the process owner team

  • Represent the business area in non GES forums providing detailed GES process knowledge

  • Lead and participate in GES projects and work-streams sharing best practices from other sites and functions internally within GES

  • Train others in the global and local planning process and ensure adherence to the execution of processes including the review of KPI´s to monitor process performance & corrective measures

  • Identify improvement opportunities in existing processes and develop business cases including inputs to gap analysis and business process procedures

What you'll need

Essential criteria:

  • Extensive Supply Chain knowledge

  • Supply Planning knowledge

  • Extensive SAP ERP and APO knowledge

  • Project management skills

  • Significant experience of operating in a global environment

  • Able to lead strategic projects and initiatives across multiple sites/teams

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Experience in training teams and individuals

Desirable criteria:

  • A degree or equivalent, in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering, equivalent experience will be considered

  • Lean experience

  • Proven project delivery

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement

  • Experience of contract manufacturing

  • Experience of working with external CMOs
