Job Description

Seqirus, a CSL company, is a leading provider of specialty pharmaceuticals and essential vaccines.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Medical Affairs department as a Medical Manager. As the Medical Manager, you will be a high performing professional valued for medical excellence and integrity. Reporting to the Associate Director Medical Affairs, you will develop and maintain a full understanding of designated Seqirus products within specialty in-licensed pharmaceuticals portfolio, those of competitors and disease/treatment guidelines.

The Medical Manager (MM) role is a scientific role within the Medical Affairs team to implement the medical plan and act as a medical science expert. The purpose of Medical Affairs is to provide and gather scientific insights to/from internal and external stakeholders, and generate data that translates into clear, compelling and strategic scientific exchange and medical education programs. These will impact recommendations, guidelines and strategy in order to have a positive impact on health.

The role interfaces with other functions within Medical Affairs and across the organisation in Brand teams, Regulatory, Health Economics and other cross functional teams to ensure collaborative connectivity with these key stakeholders, and a focused medical approach to supporting country and regional business objectives. The MM will contribute to the implementation of objectives by supporting development and execution the medical strategy for one or more products within a specified portfolio.

The MM will be responsible for developing and executing Medical plans for external engagement, including identifying and developing relationships with key external medical experts in the designated therapeutic area, coordinating advisory boards, medical education programs and scientific communications. The MM will develop the scientific narrative related to a product and/or therapy area and gain actionable external insights on this

via scientific exchange to identify knowledge gaps in the therapy area, and conduct activities required to partner with stakeholders to understand and/or generate real world evidence.

You have tertiary qualifications in pharmacology, pharmacy, or a related discipline and considerable experience in a similar role providing scientific and medical expertise for complex portfolio (allergy or immunology experience is highly regarded) and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage relationships with key opinion leaders.

You know how to prioritise effectively and can handle competing objectives across a complex product portfolio, working collaboratively with cross functional teams and external stakeholders to gather insights to inform strategic decision making. As a motivated self-leader, you will lead project teams, provide mentorship / coaching to other team members and manage difficult and sometimes complex problems, often requiring understanding of broader set of issues.

You have excellent attention to detail combined with strong analytical and technical skills, with a developed understanding of medical governance. A sound and proven knowledge of the Medicines Australia (MA) Code of Conduct is essential in your role, and is required for reviewing and approving promotional and educational materials.

Your interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are first-class and you know how to successfully achieve agreed metrics/targets and maintain a strong customer focus.
