Job description

Working in a scientific environment, contributing to the development of the echocardiographic field, playing a part in innovation, and teaching (international) training courses. Erasmus MC is looking for a motivated, committed echocardiographer/researcher with lots of ambition and special interest adult congenital heart disease.

This position will train your ability to conduct research, with the main focus on congenital echocardiography. You will be part of a comprehensive research programme where you will capture ultrasound images, interpret, analyse and develop them further.

Qualifications and skills

You have completed a university of applied sciences-level bachelor’s degree as Cardiac Function Lab Technician or have become adept at working with echocardiography through a different bachelor’s programme.

Furthermore you have a demonstrable interest and knowledge of adult congenital heart disease.

It is crucial for this position for you to be ambitious and to be flexible in terms of your thinking and your behavior on the work floor.

Experimental research is all about daring to think outside the box and persist if you are unable to obtain the desired results right away.

Terms of employment

A unique research position through which you will be closely involved in leading experimental cardiology research through being included in our research programme. We also intend to offer our new echocardiographic researcher a long-term contract.

The gross monthly salary for candidates with a echocardiographic background amounts a minimum of € 3.050 ,- (scale 9) and a maximum of € 4.615,- (scale 10), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. If you obtained your experience in echocardiography through a different bachelor’s programme, we will adjust the salary in accordance with your education and experience levels.

Moreover, we are offering you a year-end bonus and holiday pay amounting to 8.3% and 8% of your annual salary respectively, a personal budget for travel expenses and training opportunities. The employment conditions we are offering are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
