About the function:
We currently have an impactful new opportunity within a recently created global function for an experienced clinician with recent experience from either clinical practice or a hospital environment. This role sits within our newly formed Global Patient Centricity Group working closely with research and drug discovery teams on early drug development (prior to Phase 1). The position and the function provides an opportunity to mould initiatives at an early stage around what patients need (engaging earlier than clinical trials) and to better understand disease areas. The position reports to the Global Head of Medical Intelligence & Patient Insights
About This Job:
This is a senior medical position, the objective for which is to inform and educate scientific teams regarding the clinical aspects of diseases of interest, the experience from an exam room setting as well gain input and involvement at the discovery stage of the development continuum.
The individual will lead specialised teams and have accountability for providing:
•An understanding of disease areas of value and interest
•Potential utilisation and medical need for early molecules (particularly in the context of current standards of care and treatment protocols)
•Details surrounding the clinical implications of disease areas of interest, including pathophysiology, gaps in care, relevant treatment protocols, populations of interest and potential entry points into the treatment continuum
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
•Solid clinical practice or relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
•Evidence of direct clinical care of patients
•Able to network and lead projects in a complex global environment
•Strong communication and presentation skills
•A passion for patient value and early drug development
Qualifications:
•Relevant medical qualification such as MD
Additional Information:
•This is a full-time permanent position
•The role is based in the UK and as such candidates should possess a current, valid right to work in the UK
