Senior Manager Medical Affairs EMEA

I’m partnered with a leading ophthalmic pharmaceutical company who seek a manager of Medical Affairs across EMEA region to be responsible for key products and adjacent therapeutic areas under the leadership of the Franchise Medical Director. Within this role, you will actively contribute to the development of the regional EMEA Medical affairs strategy and plan for the assigned products.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and execution of comprehensive EMEA Medical affairs product strategy and activity plans and programs such as pre-launch, launch and post-approval plans and Life cycle Management to show our product’s value.
  • Lead the design of an innovative medical affairs study plan that addresses the needs of stakeholders, including real world evidence to generate the most impactful evidence of the product value.
  • Ensure an effective data dissemination through a comprehensive medical communications and external key stakeholder engagement strategy
  • Support marketing, market access and other stakeholders in the introduction and market release of new FOTE product through clinical reviews and data generation.
  • Lead the engagement with external key stakeholders in the region (e.g. KOL, Health Care Practitioners, Health Authorities, etc.) ensuring coordination with countries and other internal functions
  • Participate in the development of training/education programs
  • Participate in congress and organise symposia, advisory boards or other events and be the central point of contact for medical queries
  • Serve as EMEA Medical Affairs partners at meetings (internal as well as medical society meetings) and functions
  • Serve as the key medical contact for the assigned products in EMEA
  • Manage resources/budgets in line with medical affairs strategy and meet financial targets
  • Ensure optimal communication flow to share new information/knowledge with peers in the region and abroad.

Requirements

  • MD, PhD (Ophthalmologist/Ophthalmology highly desired)
  • >5 years industry experience (regional/country level)
  • >3 years’ leadership experience with direct reporting
  • Ability to work cross functionally and build relationships in an international environment
  • Bilingual (English + one other EU language)
  • International travel 30-50% required
