Senior Scientific Director

Albion Rye Associates are proud to be working with an Award-Winning, full-service medical communications agency on the hunt for a well-rounded and very experienced Senior Scientific Director.

This is an essential addition to their growing agency and would be an exciting step for a Scientific Director to join and act as a true partner to a large client.  

As the Senior Scientific Director, you will be responsible for leading all account associated activities defining the client's brand strategy and lead on strategic objectives across content with your very collaborative teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and strategic direction for the assigned account, maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders and engaging in discussions of science and strategy with both clients and external experts
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of assigned therapeutic area(s), client and competitor product(s), the compliance/regulatory setting, and develop high-quality for a range of project, writing styles, and media as appropriate to target audiences
  • Manage and prioritize own and project team workload, delivering to agreed timeline and budget
  • Ensure internal and client-driven processes and procedures are followed to deliver projects, to agreed specifications and deadlines
  • Provide guidance/mentorship and internal peer review, as appropriate
  • Plan resource requirements for assigned accounts to ensure effective delivery
  • Drive the development of scientific content for new business proposals and participate in pitch presentations

Skills and Experience required

  • Higher life sciences degree or clinical discipline (or equivalent relevant experience) 
  • Ideally 6+ years’ proven medical communications experience
  • Demonstrable passion for writing, with a strong command of the English language
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to interact confidently with colleagues, clients, and external experts
  • Ability to manage own workload across multiple projects to deliver to time and budget

This role will be based on the East Coast. Although other locations will be considered too across the US.
