Job Details

Hobson Prior currently have an opportunity for an Senior Analytical Scientist to join a leading pharmaceutical organisation on a permanent basis. Our client is focused on improving people's health through new medicines in Oncology.

Job Responsibilities
:

  • Leads Analytical activities to support the characterisation of commercial manufacturing process and develop understanding of drug substance and drug product attributes.
  • Leads Method Development to support the improvement and implementation of new analytical methods for the commercial portfolio (ALCM).
  • Ensure experimental work is recorded appropriately in controlled laboratory notebooks or protocols in accordance with the requirements of GxP.
  • Responsible for the technical/critical review of data for Analytical MS&T studies and reports.
  • Analyse raw data from multiple sources to enable rational conclusions to be drawn and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Prepares accurate and precise technical reports.
  • Supports analytical testing for comparability and PPQ batch characterisation as part of lifecycle management activities (LCM).
  • Understands and leads activities related to departmental/site objectives and project milestones.
  • Leads process/general improvements in specific area.
  • Actively promotes, maintains and contributes to the successful running of laboratory areas in line with GxP.
  • Manage consumable inventory levels within the laboratory and ensure that equipment maintenance and calibration is performed in line with approved procedures.
  • Proactively seek and lead development of new methods and processes that would enhance the understanding and robustness of processes.
  • Provide feedback on potential new methods or equipment including presentation of early data.
  • Provide support for external collaborations to assist in development of new technologies for Analytical MS&T.
  • To perform assigned tasks whilst adhering to current GxP requirements at all times.
  • Improve team performance and capabilities by mentoring other team members and encouraging cross training.
  • To work in a safe manner always and raise any Health and Safety concerns to your line-manager or the Health and Safety team.

Requirements:

  • PhD in appropriate scientific discipline with 2 years industrial experience in a relevant role.
  • To have a minimum of degree level in a relevant discipline with 3-5 years industrial experience of protein formulation development.
