2020 was an exciting year for the Oncology Business Unit in Astellas UK, as well as an imminent new licence for our prostate cancer drug, we are also launching a new and exciting product for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. 

As a result, we have a great opportunity for an experienced oncology/haematology Key Account Manager to join the team focusing on London and South East of England territory, covering key centres that include:  Hammersmith, Kings, Royal Marsden, St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts Health) St Georges and University College Hospital London (UCH).

If you are a passionate Key Account Manager, with proven Haema-Oncology sales experience, specifically within leukaemia (chronic lymphocytic (CLL), acute myeloid (AML), chronic myeloid (CML) myeloma, and/or lymphoma (Hodgkin's) medicines, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with key HCP to drive the Astellas product launch of our new innovative medicine.

As a Haematology Specialist you will:

Be responsible for driving sales and key performance indicators in line with agreed Oncology and Haematology and brand strategies, and be an expert partner to key customers, with excellent product and broad therapeutic area knowledge, driving development of Astellas Haematology business within the accounts to optimise sales, market share and profitability targets across the territory tailored to the specific needs of the different Oncology and Haematology therapy areas as the Astellas Key Account Management philosophy (OneKAM).

Key Accountabilities as Haematology Specialist Key Account Manager:

  • Responsible for enabling all eligible patients to be treated by Astellas therapeutic options
  • Responsible for the development of Astellas Haematology business within the accounts, driving and optimising sales, market share and other relevant local targets
  • Have a deep understanding of the patient journey. Build awareness and sensitivity of the patient condition and issues in order to demonstrate integrate a focus on patient care and outcomes
  • Ensure seamless patient access at account level
  • Provide in-label education to stakeholders (including technical aspects of therapeutic area, products and diagnostics)
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with HCPs, prioritising those that are most critical to Astellas; continually improving levels of customer service and outcomes, whilst optimising awareness and reputation of Astellas and brands within.
  • Plan, implement and optimize outcomes based on a deep understanding of account infrastructure, relationships of all relevant stakeholders in accounts, their importance and influence networks
  • Gather and analyse relevant customer, account and territory information to help formulate tailored, high quality plans to prioritise resources, and deliver the best results for Astellas
  • Develop specific, tailored and cross-functional plans for accounts and customers so that actions are planned  and risks managed
  • Identify and drive/support local market access activities where relevant to ensure full access and availability to Astellas Brands according to appropriate timelines and aligned to the agreed pricing and reimbursement strategy.
  • Ensure clear understanding of market access activities that will be driven by self or dedicated MA resource, and ensure full accountability appropriately.
  • Ensure Astellas brands are positioned within treatment guidelines and protocols to reflect the product license and benefits.
  • Identify and drive required changes to diagnostics guidelines and protocols to ensure diagnostic services are an enabler to product success.
  • Work seamlessly with internal stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met in the optimal way by the most appropriate person.
  • Translate affiliate strategies and tactics int aligned local activities to drive brand performance.
  • Ensure all local plans, positioning and key messages are consistent with brand strategy.
  • Share best practice, learnings, data, information and ideas to generate further opportunity and gain competitive advantage in your territory and accounts and in those of your peers.
  • Support the development of affiliate plans, activities and projects as relevant.
