Director (Renal Diseases)

Hobson Prior are looking for a Director (Renal Diseases) for an exciting leadership role in the Tissue Remodeling Group within the Immunology Therapeutic Area in Early Solutions. This position is on a permanent based in Slough however flexible working arrangements are a possibility. For more information on this role please get in touch now!

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible to provide scientific leadership for a group of scientists in drug discovery for renal diseases.
• Mentor, coach, and develop talent in his/her part of the organisation.
• Set up external collaborations to access cutting edge science and accelerate research.
• To implement a pioneering and coherent research strategy for renal diseases.
• Initiate, lead, and coordinate research projects delivering new targets and clinical candidates.
• Contribute to Early Solutions strategic and governance activities (portfolio reviews, scientific advisory boards).
• Champion Patient Value Strategy.

• Comfortable working in an agile and team-oriented matrix environment, communicating with colleagues across functions and disciplines.
• Robust inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.
• Team-player, driving healthy scientific debate.

Requirements:

• MD/PhD or PhD; medical background in renal diseases is a significant advantage.
• Proven track record of original research in renal pathobiology with strong publication record.
• Considerable experience in industry or academia in the field of renal physiology/pathology with demonstrated experience in a leadership position.
• Proven scientific leadership skills in terms of strategy, innovation and coaching.
• Knowledge and expertise in translational research.
