IQVIA’s Real World Solutions (RWS) group in the fabulous coastal city of Lisbon (Oeiras) is recruiting Statistical Programmers.

You’ll be working in SAS (SAS experience not required as full training will be given) as part of a growing team to support a network of delivery hubs and businesses units in the development of evidence and insights achieved through the development and application of innovative scientific methods, processes and algorithms to aid the delivery of structured healthcare data.

Your daily missions would include:

  • Extract, clean, investigate, prepare, analyse, test and report real-world data according to statistical analysis plans and programming specifications using SAS
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency of workflows, including development of process and guidance documents
  • Implement quality control procedures for your own work and that of others
  • Interpret project level requirements and follow programming specifications, as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with statisticians, epidemiologists and programmers in separate geographies

Our perfect candidate needs the following:

  • A Batchelors Degree in Maths/Statistics/Statistical Science/Statistical Data Analytics/Medical Statistics/Data Science/Computer Sciences/Life Sciences or equivalent
  • A strong desire to become an expert SAS statistical programmer
  • Already possess the Right to Work in Portugal without the need for Visas/Work Permits
  • Ability to manipulate, analyse and report data in R, SAS or Python
    • Import and transform data in alignment with specifications
    • Analyse data with descriptive statistics
    • Create and format output into Excel, RTF, PDF or HTML via SAS ODS/R/Py package
  • A proactive, creative, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently
  • Ability to achieve results within a multi-cultural and geographically diverse team in a fast-paced client focused environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills in English

You’re an especially great match if you have:

  • Prior experience working in a consultancy or other service sector in the healthcare industry
  • Aptitude to software engineering or application development
  • Experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective database studies
  • Experience in the development SAS utility macros
  • Ability to process and verify data from multiple sources including Database Management Systems
  • A Masters Degree in Maths, Data Science, Life Science or related subject
  • Business proficiency in French, German or Spanish
