About the role:

If you have several years of supply chain experience in a high mix environment and you are ready to take your career to the next level this is the role for you.

The senior supply chain controller orchestrates the correct calculation of requirements in our business systems. Your ability to drive and manage supply chain performance, and to translate an inventory policy into recommended system settings (e.g. desired safety stock level, lead time) and to build relationships with suppliers will help Abcam deliver. You will work collaboratively with other functional areas to refine processes and procedures that are essential for management of the Abcam supply chain. In addition, the analysis that you provide to your management team will allow us to satisfy the needs of the Sales and Operational Planning process.

The job is fast paced, and you'll be supported with a group of positive leaders who will provide help where needed to deliver our business commitments.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Monitor inventory and pending supply vs. sales and internal demand to ensure availability
  • Lead and provide support on projects within the team and cross functionally across the business.
  • Calculate and manage over time safety stock levels for catalog products
  • Help implementation of new ERP software.
  • Provide a forecast to suppliers at a defined frequency and contribute to effective Sales and Operations Planning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and to supply chain transformation activity
  • Review Metric and KPI performance to understand root causes of failure, suggest and implement solutions
  • Measure Leadtime performance to feed into supplier reviews and keeping systems updated
  • Proactively pull data from Tableau and other sources to interpret performance and drive improvements
  • Develop other members of team with formal and informal training
  • Find and resolve ad-hoc issues


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in planning or supply chain
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of inventory management
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills. Must have some experience working with large data files
  • Understanding of ERP supply chain modules

  • Prior experience with supplier management
  • Formal Supply chain qualifications
  • Experience with new product introductions
