Global Supply Planning Lead/Director

In this exciting new role, you will be a member of the extended Network Planning Leadership Team and lead a team of our Global Supply Planners (GSPs) ensuring effective end to end planning for the tactical horizon, balancing service, inventory and cost.

Taking the lead in a number of processes and forums including Tier, Supply Chain Council and the long-range planning budget (LRP) processes. Playing a pivotal role in designing and leading the Therapeutic Area S&OP - a forum of network Senior Leaders focussed on connecting the TA / Brand Strategy to the Tactical Planning Deployment - whilst embracing an enterprise approach.

Take accountability for working with our broader Operations organisation to implement new processes and capabilities across the synchronised network to drive innovation, improve outcomes and deliver business results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Globally-based GSPs

  • Act as the initial issue point for the GSPs in unresolved mid-term supply constraints.

  • Ensure service risks are mitigated and / or appropriately called out.

  • Ensure brand structural issues are made visible and solutions are identified to mitigate

  • Accountable for driving end to end planning and synchronisation capability uplift

  • Play a key Leadership mentoring role in LRP budget processes for volume and inventory in the mid-term horizon. Working closely with Global Supply and Strategy LT on messaging and risks.

  • Track actual inventory performance versus planned inventory/budget and progress on improvements (variability and lead team reductions) for the brands within their portfolio and ensures corrective actions are in place

  • Partner closely with Asset Supply Leads to translate blueprint asset capacity in 0 - 2 year horizon into a brand view of capacity across the Network, ensuring risks are identified appropriately and mitigations in place.

  • Partner with colleagues to ensure planning strategy and therapeutic strategy are aligned.

  • Work closely with Site Supply Chain Leaders on supply chain initiatives which require cross-functional insight, leadership and support.

  • Establish strong links with Global logistics teams to ensure end to end accountability and strong delivery performance

  • Coach and provide input into any brand critical issues for Supply Chain Council.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account.

  • Significant experience in the Supply Chain Environment (Manufacturing, Planning) and Supply & Operations Planning process

  • Strong experience of leading and mentoring a team

  • Extensive influencing and networking ability to a Senior level

  • Ability to think creatively

Desirable experience

  • Advanced supply chain (inventory and capacity) planning skills

  • Commercial experience

  • APICS / CSCP or equivalent certification

  • Lean certification
