Molecular Biology Assoc Scientist - Athlone, Ireland (Joining bonus ₠3000)

Our GMP laboratory based in Athlone, Ireland offers fully integrated solutions for product development and analytical development, including analytical testing services in method development, method validation, method transfer, release and stability studies.

Gene Therapy is the latest development in Biologics. We are extending the range of services offered by our GMP Labs in Athlone to support Gene Therapy products and have an exciting opportunity for a Molecular Biologist in a Associate Scientist role.

The role of Assoc Scientist within our Molecular Biology & Cell lab is a pivotal role within Labs and will work alongside Senior members to perform a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures using a wide range of analytical instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of complex sample preparations
  • Analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formations for stability testing and other studies for analytical testing support
  • Performing work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner
  • Training on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • PhD in Molecular biology AND
  • qPCR, RNA analysis, DNA analysis experience
  • Cell culture and cell assay experience
  • Cloning, sequencing, and transfection skills
  • Strong GMP understanding or experience ( (ICH guidelines, USP/EP requirements and EMA/FDA regulations)
  • The ability to plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • The ability to write protocols and reports with minimum supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
