The Role:

Exciting opportunity to join Covance by Labcorp as a Proposals Graduate in either Leeds, Maidenhead or Edinburgh. The position will compliment a degree in Life Sciences and start your career in the industry. In addition, we encourage professional development and career exploration through programme workshops, each designed to help students prepare for a thriving career in our industry.

Our team specialises in supporting RFPs in the pre-award space from strategic proposal writing and budget perspective for pharma companies, working to ensure they receive the tailored, personal approach. Our remit covers all patient studies from Phase Ib-IV across all therapeutic areas.

About the Team:

The Enterprise Request for Information (RFI) team department is responsible for providing the client, in great detail, about the services that Covance can offer in the format of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs, and working in close proximity with the sales and operational teams.

Duties:
  • Shadow Enterprise RFI Managers on all aspects of the appropriate RFI process (ie collating data, following up with other departments, meeting minutes, etc)
  • Learn to review and analyse RFI documents to promote understanding of client requirements. May (based on business unit expectation) collate follow up questions for additional information as requested.
  • Work within our Qvidian database to support content management
  • May (based on business unit expectation) shadow applicable strategic and operational calls related to the opportunity
  • Works across the organisation in matrix environment to facilitate the process and complete deliverables
  • Shadow the drafting of standard documents in accordance with agreed strategy and Sponsor expectations under the pressure of changing timelines
  • Administratively supports facilitating internal and external opportunity management negotiations (i.e. pricing, process, resources, timelines, etc.) as needed
  • Support timely delivery of assigned deliverables
  • Performs timely and accurate data entry into corporate databases as directed
  • Seeks appropriate knowledge of the technical and regulatory environments
  • Complete other appropriate duties, as assigned by the manager, which require similar skills in accordance with business needs and common sense.

  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
  • Demonstrated computer skills - requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritise
  • Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organisational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Positive attitude and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work irregular and/or extended hours as needed to meet the client's proposal deadline.
  • Life Sciences degree
Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in related field or equivalent work experience
