Job Details

IQVIA has an exciting and rewarding program dedicated to patients who are undergoing or recovering from their chemoradiotherapy (CRT) treatment by enabling easy nationwide access to Allied Health and Nurse support.

This program aims to maintain patient fitness and overall wellness through the first stage in their CRT treatment. This support service will give patients the best opportunity of maintaining their fitness through CRT and recovery.

The program will provide a level of convenience of in-home patient support particularly important for regional and rural based patients where access to wellness centres are simply not available.

We are looking for Registered Nurses open to causal employment flexible to your current schedules.

Positions are available in the following locations:

  • Sydney South West/West NSW
  • Melbourne Metro VIC
  • Brisbane Metro QLD
  • Canberra ACT
  • Perth WA
  • Adelaide SA
  • Hobart TAS

A Registered Nurse is required to visit patients in their home to assess their wellbeing and recommend ongoing care plans if further support is needed.

Week 1 Nurse visit – initiation on the program, patient begins CRT therapy

Week 8-9 Nurse visit assessment of patient’s health and wellness including Care Plan if required

Week 10-11 Nurse visit assessment of patient’s health and wellness including Care Plan if required.

Note: These week numbers are subject to change, as directed by the referring specialist

The role is very casual as we don't know how often a new patient will register for the home nurse support. When a patient is registered, the Nurse program manager from IQVIA will contact the nurse to ask them to contact the patient within 48 hours to arrange a visit at a mutually convenient date and time.

We may receive an enrolment for a patient that lives in a remote location and ask the nurse to conduct a visit that requires an intra/interstate flight, overnight accommodation and longer travel times. IQVIA will organise travel and pay travel expenses, time and provide meal allowances.

Within 24 hours of the visit, the nurse needs to complete a post injection report form (PIRF), record their visit time through the nurse portal stating if an AE was reported.

The nurse will need to document and complete any incident report and ensure the prompt reporting of adverse events (AE) in accordance with company procedures within one (1) business day.

Essential:

  • RN (Current Registration)
  • Current Basic Life Support Certificate
  • A clear, detailed and professional understanding of infection control procedures
  • High attention to detail
  • Current/ full/ unrestricted driver’s licence
  • IT Proficient
  • Australian Citizen or PR

Desirable:

  • Flexible with time and days
  • Community Nursing Experience
  • Interest in disease management
  • Experience with cancer patients
