Job Purpose:

This individual is responsible for inspiring, leading and developing Human Resources support in the EMEA region. The Senior Director, Human Resources will be the primary person responsible for managing the Company's relationship with, and day-to-day activities concerning, the local German Works Council as well as ensuring positive relationships with other EMEA region country organised labor representation. The Senior Director, Human Resources will be responsible for driving the company's cultural values, compliance (local jurisdiction; corporate; regulatory), retention, employee engagement, function efficiency and effectiveness.
The Senior Director, Human Resources will have country HR managers reporting into this role.
This leader understands the function's and the region's role within this global context and its unique opportunities to positively contribute to the company's financial metrics and leads change and actions to achieve this.
The Senior Director has ownership for their own client groups and leads the daily strategic and operational execution of human resources activities in support of, and aligned with, business objectives across all SBU/Function sites within the country or region.
Qualifications

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, both verbal and written
Fluent in written and spoken German and English

• Executive presence; a credible professional that displays poise and confidence, acts with dignity and is expert in their field and assured of their knowledge
Ability to provide constructive and motivational feedback to own team and other stakeholders

• Deep expertise and experience in managing, interacting with, negotiating with Works Council and other EMEA country organised labour representation: building, maintaining constructive relationships and represent the company and employee interest
Capable of addressing issues in the moment locally, successfully and without need for escalation until appropriate
Significant experience with and understanding of the laws governing Germany based Works Councils rights and responsibilities;

• Demonstratable understanding of business principles; what drives the business: recommendations and decisions are presented with that context
Ability to understand all aspects of the operations (including SG&A) from a business standpoint - growth, revenue, profitability - and how each decision impacts these metrics

• Ability to think and lead strategically, understand and drive toward the big picture whilst remaining detail-oriented and hands-on in daily operations
Highly process oriented and metric driven
Ability to lead and facilitate significant initiatives (for example process improvement, organisational changes, restructuring)

• Inspirational leadership - ability to create a vision, help employees understand their important part in clients' and patients' success, and feel accountable for executing against it
Holds people accountable for their contribution
Ability to select, develop and retain talent in a competitive market; and plan for succession within their remit

• Ability to successfully navigate and work across a highly matrixed organization to drive action and results
Shows a strong customer focus and appropriate sense of urgency
Strong inclination for collaboration

Knowledge and Experience:
• Relevant Human Resources Business Partner experience: strategic, trusted advisor across multiple service lines and regions
• Numerous years of experience in roles with international responsibility
• Demonstrable success working with Works Councils in Germany and working knowledge of other collective bargaining organisations and arrangements
• Significant experience managing teams spread across multiple locations in a global, matrixed organisation; directing teams and projects
• Prior service provider industry, consulting, or CRO experience, preferred
• Business experience (budget management) preferred
• Proven track record of driving process improvement into the human resources function driving efficiency and effectiveness

Education:
• B.S. or B.A. level education preferably but not necessarily in Business Management, Human Resources Management, Psychology, or other related discipline
• Advanced degree: Masters / MBA level education preferred
• Higher graduate studies in business or HR discipline preferred
